On May 11, a cleaning event “Akhaltsikhe – the Clean City” was organised in Akhaltsikhe in the frames of the Democracy Self-Government Programme financed by the USAID and Akhaltsikhe municipality administration.

 

The Association “Toleranti” was among other NGOs participating in the cleaning action. The staff of the “Toleranti” and the “Volunteer Focus Group” formed within the project “Protection of rights of conditionally convicted young individuals (probationer) and their resocialisation”, cleaned the adjacent territory of the Art School.

 

The action was composed of two parts: the first part was dedicated to information campaign, during which information material and announcements were distributed to all residents; in the second one, NGOs and educational institutions cleaned their respective blocks according to the plan drawn up in advance.

 

Volunteer Trainings Commenced

 

On May 4, at the professional college “Opisari” representatives of the Multiethnic Resource Centre held a training “Human Rights and International Law” for the “Volunteer Focus Group” formed within the project “Protection of rights of conditionally convicted young individuals (probationer) and their resocialisation”.

 

Apart from active youth (high school pupils and students), the “Volunteer Focus Group” for integration and resocialisation involves also conditionally convicted persons, who undergo training courses in raising legal awareness and civic responsibility.

“We are learning very interesting issues. I am interested in international conventions and hope that by these trainings I shall learn how to protect others rights, as well as mine”, - Meri Zazadze, student of Humanitarian Faculty said.

 

The training course foresees 10 thematic discussions with invited guests and 30 seminars on “Human Rights and International Law”; “Tolerance and No Violence”; “Effective Communication”; “Prevention of Juvenile Delinquency according to International Standards and Experience”.

“All these issues are interconnected and the final aim is to prevent juvenile delinquency. Young individuals who are involved in these seminars will try in future to encourage tolerance in the society towards probationers”, - Alexandra Kalatozishvili, Director of the Multiethnic Resource Centre for Civic Education explained.

 

After the trainings, the “Volunteer Focus Groups” will take part in various actions envisaged by the project.

From April 23, professional re-training courses for probationers will start at the professional college “Opizari”. Up to 30 convicted individuals will undergo re-training in the areas of their own preference free of charge in the frames of the project “Protection of rights of conditionally convicted young individuals (probationer) and their resocialisation”. Currently, the process of their registration and division into groups is underway.   

“You are full-fledged members of the society and you must show an example to others with your diligence and stamina”, - Tsira Meskhishvili, Director of the project told to probationers.

გამოფენა  ევროკავშირის მიერ დაფინანსებული პროექტის ,,1940 -იან წლებში საქართველოდან გადასახლებულ პირთა და მათი შთამომავლების რეპატრიაციის ხელშეწყობა“ ფარგლებში გაიმართა.

პროექტს ახორციელებს უმცირესობის საკითხთა ევროპული ცენტრის (ECMI).

გამოფენა ასახავს მესხების ყოველდღიურ ყოფა -ცხოვრებას, კულტურას, ტრადიციებს როგორც საქართველოში, ასევე აზერბაიჯანში, ყირგიზეთსა და თურქეთში.

გამოფენაზე წარმოდგენილი იყო  საოჯახო არქივებიდან მოძიებული ფოტოებიც.

ახალციხეში,  გამოფენაზე ფოტოების გმირი მესხებიც  მოვიდნენ და  დიდი სიამოვნებით დაათვალიერეს სურათები.

,,სტერეოტიპები,არაინფორმირებულობა,პოპულიზმი ყველა ეს საკითხი რეპატრირებული მესხების თემების გაშუქებასთან ასოცირდება“, - განაცხადა ჟურნალისტებთან შეხვედრაზე ასოციაცია ,,ტოლერანტის“ ხელმძღვანელმა ცირა მესხიშვილმა.

 

შეხვედრა მშვიდობის, დემოკრატიის და განვითარების კავკასიურ ინსტიტუტში გაიმართა. შეხვედრის ორგანიზატორი ასოციაცია ,,ტოლერანტი“ იყო და ესწრებოდნენ წამყვანი მედია საშუალებების წარმომადგენლები, როგორც თბილისიდან ასევე იმერეთის, გურიის, სამცხე-ჯავახეთის რეგიონებიდანაც, სადაც ასევე ცხოვრობენ რეპატრირებული მესხები.
